BUTTERFLIES

The formula for good romance

Spoiler Free Review | Wizkid of romance books, Ali Hazelwood, has done it again. After 'The Love Hypothesis', 'Love on the Brain' and three novellas, her third book 'Love, Theoretically' has proven to be another success. I read it, and let me tell you it was as good as booktok claims it is.

I read 'The Love Hypothesis' last year when it became a hype. It was my very first smut book and even though I kept saying I was not ready to read that kind of genre, it has eventually taken me down the rabbit hole. The way Ali made the story of Olive and Adam sound so innocent from the beginning really trapped me in spice-land forever. However, the second book, 'Love on the Brain', did not catch my attention. I am a NASA/astronomy girlie, but I can't give you any good explanation for why I did not read Ali's second book.

Then the novellas came out, and I started annotating them, but again I was not hooked.

BAM. There was the big bang (hehe physics joke). 'Love, Theoretically' came out and like the first book all over it was everywhere. I needed to buy it just because I had the other books – I was not even feeling guilty that I had not read the previous books, cuz I am savage like that. The cover was cute, I am not even ashamed to say that was my main motivation. But the inside, even better.

I am a huge enemies to lovers fan, which Elsie and Jack screamed. The book focuses on a historical fight between Physics Theorists and Experimentalists, which you know about if you have seen Oppenheimer recently. A debate which is perfectly fit for a Romeo and Juliette love story, if you ask me. Mix it with a little career war and feminism, and you have Love, Theoretically.

The 'falling in love' was great. The spice, however, no comment.

Even though it took me a long time to finish this book – just so you know, I am a slow reader – for any average reading speed reader this book will be a lovely quick read. Definitely a nice escape from some intensive fantasy. It is cozy, has a lot of humour and will definitely entertain you. I give this read four stars!

Kisses and hugs!
