They form a sort of red thread throughout the story. It shows true skill of the writer to keep bring up these details at the right times. I won't spoil anything, but let's just say that you'll be swept away by the momentum of it all.

And let's talk about the romance itself. It's not your typical "boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love" kind of story.
